UpDated mid-October 2002
This trip is labeled "Labrador" since the chief objective of the summer wanderings was to "do" the "Trans Labrador Highway " - known (by some of us) as the Last Great Gravel Highway!
The "Highway" ends in Goose Bay, from whence you take a 38 hour ferry trip - surrounded by ice bergs.
And so on to "Newfoundland". This is probably one of the best travel destinations you can find these days. Just ask a lot of people who visited there on September 11, 2001.
Next stop (of course we never actually stop) was the "Maritime Provinces". We spent time on Capt Breton Island (part of Nova Scotia) and Prince Edward Island. Then we moved back to NS to await friends in Halifax. After a few days of golf and visiting, we moved on to New Brunswick for More golf and tourism. The bad news is that we have misplaced a roll of film, and so we're missing a few photos - until the lost roll shows up.
Thus we began our trek west by spending time at some of the historic locations in "New England", including the Smithsonian and Williamsburg, VA, and a sampling of visits with more friends and family. Which finally brought us to Lee's Summit, where half of our Grandchildren live!
Heading west we visited good friends in Denver, and then continued on across the "high desert" into Utah and Nevada. After all that nature, we often stop for a day or two in Las Vegas (no - not to replenish the kitty, simply to enjoy the sights of corruption). Then we head through the Mohave and over Tehachapi Pass, and home!
Well, if you look at the "Map " now, you will see that we made it! So now you can read on with confidence that this trip was a dream which came to be.
